FINS Competitive Swim Club Dives into Success with KCFSC Grant

FINS Competitive Swim Club (CSC) is making waves thanks to a recent funding grant from the Kirkcaldy and Central Fife Sports Council (KCFSC). The club’s delighted swimmers have already put their new equipment to good use, sending in a photo showcasing their latest purchase – a vital piece of equipment storage that has significantly improved their training experience.

The grant from KCFSC enabled FINS CSC to purchase a “cage” – a storage solution designed to streamline the swimmers’ training routine. Previously, swimmers were required to bring separate, bulky, and often wet kit bags containing essential training aids like floats, snorkels, flippers, and hand paddles to every session.

A club representative expressed their gratitude, explaining, “The swimmers have been using the ‘cage’ since its inception. Swimmers are required to bring a separate ‘kit’ net bag containing floats, snorkles, flippers, hand paddles etc to every session. These bags are bulky and heavy and at the end of a session very wet. Several swimmers come to training straight from school or work so appreciate having only one bag to bring. Others make their own way to the pool. There are also those who are forgetful who very much appreciate it! Thank you for your support.”

The new storage cage has proven to be a game-changer, simplifying the logistics of training for swimmers of all ages and abilities. It has particularly benefited those who travel directly from school or work, those who travel alone, and those who sometimes forget their equipment.
