Happy New Year!

We would like to wish every club, their members, plus friends and family all the best for a healthy and prosperous 2023!

2022 was a much more “normal” year for us all and to celebrate we are hosting our Annual Awards night on Thursday, 30 March, 2023. The venue is Fife College, St. Brycedale Campus, Kirkcaldy.  This will be the 13th awards night.

As a reminder, we need your help!

We need you to nominate individual(s), or team(s), who you believe meet the criteria for the various awards. You can nominate one or more individuals or teams for the various awards provided the individuals reside or are members of a club within the area covered by the Sports Council. Our area runs from Burntisland to Leven and west to Glenrothes and Cluny. Individuals who live outwith the area may also be nominated provided they are members of a club within the area and provided they are not shortlisted for a similar award in their home area.

Teams who are nominations must be or can become members of the Sports Council. For the Junior/Youth Team Award all individuals must be in the age range stipulated below.

We last held our Sports Council Awards in March 2020, and this related to achievements recorded in 2019. Due to the pandemic, the Awards have not been held since, but the Sports Council intend to resurrect the Awards in March 2023.

It has been decided that as restrictions were lifted part way through 2021 that the Awards, on this occasion, will cover an 18-month period and we are looking for nominations for achievements recorded between 1 July 2021 and 31 December 2022.

While most of the categories will be straightforward, there will be implications for the Junior and Youth individual awards and the Junior/Youth Team Award as outlined below.

  1. For the Junior Award, those born in 2006 can be nominated for achievements recorded between 1 July 2021 and December 2021.
Individuals can then be in transition from Junior to Youth for 2022 so, they can also be nominated for the Youth Award for achievements recorded between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 ONLY.
  2. For the Junior Award, those born in 2007 or later can be nominated for achievements recorded from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2022.
  3. For the Youth Award, those born in 2001 can be nominated for achievements recorded between 1 July 2021 and December 2021.
Individuals can then be in transition from Youth to Senior for 2022 so, they can also be nominated for the Senior Award for achievements recorded between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 ONLY.
  4. For the Junior/Youth Team Award, teams that included those born in 2006 can be nominated for the Award for achievements recorded between 1 July 2021 and December 2021.
Teams whose members were born in 2001 or later can be nominated for the award for achievements recorded between 1 July 2021 and December 2021.

You can submit nominations using our online form on the website or you can download a form which you can email or post to us.  To access both please go to our website www.kcfsportscouncil.co.uk and click on ‘Annual Awards’ – this page contains more information as well as links to both forms.

Please submit as many nominations, in as many categories, as you see fit.
